August 2 Wisconsin trip
On the way to celebrate Beth's dad's 55 anniversary of his ordination, she stopped with the kids and visited Bill and Alicia Shupe at St. John's Lutheran Church where Alicia is doing an internship for her DCE program. Bill will resume his studies for the pastoral ministry when they return to Concordia University - St. Paul next year.

2008 St. Louis County Fair
Every year Beth brings the kids to the St. Louis County Fair. On this day Anna, Abigail and Isaac enjoyed the petting farm. Emily & Erica went with friends one evening and Emily spent two different times manning a booth for her school civic club.
This year there was the opportunity to make bird houses, which A A & I made ones that are now hanging in our back yard!

McCarthy Beach State Park
Every year for the past 16 summers the Palmers of Hibbing have made at least one if not several trips to McCarthy Beach State Park where the beach is considered one of the top ten inland beaches in the United States. The beach is about 25 miles from Hibbing. If you look close in the above picture you can see Erica and Isaac standing in water hip deep about 100 yards from shore. It is totally all sand, no weeds, and this beach is like this for about 1/2 mile if not more. It's a great place to enjoy a little sun and water in God's great creation!

Grandpa Palmer brought his boat and provider fun tubing and knee boarding time!
Various efforts were made to enjoy a little skiing
Abigail displays this nice sunny she caught on a wax worm.
Our second day had EVERYONE out for a scramble best ball tournament. Here Allie is about to wack the little white ball. The tourney was great fun as each person had to have their ball count on the holes count (unless the score was less than number of players - 4 or 5)
