Grandpa Palmer brought his boat and provider fun tubing and knee boarding time!
Various efforts were made to enjoy a little skiing
Abigail displays this nice sunny she caught on a wax worm.
Our second day had EVERYONE out for a scramble best ball tournament. Here Allie is about to wack the little white ball. The tourney was great fun as each person had to have their ball count on the holes count (unless the score was less than number of players - 4 or 5)

2008 7 27 Quadna Palmer Gathering

Starting Sunday afternoon, July 27, family members arrived for four days and three nights of fun. The older girl cousins give us a big smile as they arrive and renew friendships. Jake gets in on the pic.
Isaac and Josh enjoy a little birthday cake.
Parents and grandparents get in on the first night fellowship (may have been a game of buck also).
That first afternoon, Anna and Abigail found the swimming pool near our rooms fairly soon.

We caught a fair number of walleyes, but didn't take many pictures. Here Lloyd with a nice eater!
On the way to one walleye site we came across this eagle perched in a treetop. Took a few picks.
Isaac and Jake both took a few turns cleaning the fish.
Just before departure on Saturday at about 2 p.m. we took a group pic of Mark, Isaac, Lloyd, Jake and Todd. A blessed trip it was. Hope the good LORD provides another opportunity to return to this great place and visit Tourist Lake, the Sunken Island and other areas we marked on our GPS's

2008 Canadian trip cont

On an island in the middle of no where with a few camp chairs, a coleman cook stove, a bunch of walleye fillets cooking in butter with a saltine crackers crumb breading - heavenly!!!!!
At both our campsites, these pelicans, along with seagulls, kept us company. They did move towards us when it was fish cleaning time.
Our second camp site was on the Indian Reservation off a bay known for cathcing northerns - the second day we caught three there and the next day we caught another four. The first morning at the first site, we put a sucker minnow below a BIG bobber and caught about a 2-3 pound northern. Notice the green rope here in the right of the picture. It goes from the top of the tent to a try to hold the tent in place. The winds were huge on Friday.
